PREPARATION
Fitness
Moderate fitness required. Ideal for those acclimatized and looking to experience a full alpine expedition without extreme exertion.
Technical
Low to moderate. Involves glacier travel with gentle slopes (30–40°), minimal crevasse danger, and straightforward ropework. Perfect for beginners or those refining their alpine skills.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Huaraz to Ishinca Base Camp (4,300 m)
Drive from Huaraz to Pashpa (3,670 m), then hike 4–5 hours through a scenic valley to reach Ishinca Base Camp. Set up camp and review gear for the climb. 🏕 Overnight at Base Camp with views of Tocllaraju.
Day 2 – Summit Day: Nevado Ishinca
Alpine start (~2:00 AM). Hike through moraines and enter the glacier. Steady slopes with occasional crevasses lead to the summit after ~6–7 hours. Enjoy panoramic views over the Cordillera Blanca. Descend back to Base Camp for rest. 🧗 Climb time: 9–10 hours round trip
Day 3 – Return to Huaraz
Leisurely breakfast, then hike ~3–4 hours back to Pashpa. Private transport returns you to Huaraz. 🚐 Arrival in the afternoon.
